In 2007, five young women shared a dream

A dream where sisterhood, friendship and honour were aligned towards the same goal

From that idea, they became the five Mother Founders of a new sorority at the University of Ottawa known as Sigma Beta Phi

 This group relies on specific values to maintain strong bond between sisters

Unity: together nothing can stop us

Strength: to discover one’s potential is the first essential step in life

Pride: to be proud of who we are is the first step to success

 To be involved in the community is of our main concern

Through commitment and hard work

With courage, ambition, open mindedness and respect of others

One has to have a set goal in life in order to bring a change, to make a difference

And Sigma Beta Phi is there to help the young women

Who share that passion and that sense of duty towards others

Who are ready to live among sisters who share these same convictions

Unite their individual strength, recognize and accept their uniqueness

And finally discover the full potential that lies inside each beautiful young woman
